Lincoln shop stripped of licence for selling alcohol 150,000 times over limit

A shop in Lincoln has lost its licence after police seized illicit vodka which contained 150,000 times more industrial alcohol than is legally permitted.

Zabka, 111 Portland Street, Lincoln was one of the shops to be raided as part of a multi-agency operation on December 9, 2020.

During the raid, officers seized more than 190 illegal medicine products, 62 bottles of non-duty paid alcohol and five bottles of illicit Krackoff Vodka from the shop.

The Alcohol Licensing Team from Lincolnshire Police later submitted paperwork for a licence review hearing, with a hearing being held in front of Lincoln City Council Licensing Sub-Committee on Thursday February 11.

Following the hearing, the committee agreed with the police that the premises had been found to have illegal alcohol and medicine products on sale.
