An investigation is ongoing after the tragic deaths of a couple who died when their car was swept away in the River Trent.
Earlier this week it was confirmed John Lillistone, 83, and Patricia Lillistone, 82, were in a car which entered the water at Hoveringham on the evening of Monday, February 1.
Following a two-week search by police, their bodies were recovered from the river on Saturday, February 13.
The couple, both from Lowdham, were described as "wonderful" grandparents by their family.
Nottinghamshire Police issued a statement confirming the couple's death and said officers would prepare a file for the coroner.
Gary Wood, Head of Highways and Transport at Nottinghamshire County Council, has confirmed a joint investigation into the incident is underway.
