The owner of the one of Derby's best-known kebab houses has been jailed for sexually assaulting a University of Derby student.

Waheed Hussain left his young victim feeling “disgusted, ashamed, embarrassed and emotionally numb” after touching her in his office at the Cheapside food outlet.

By pleading not guilty, the sex attacker obliged his victim to give evidence in court and relive the horrific and degrading experience.

In a moving victim impact statement the woman, in her 20s, said the remaining years of her time studying in the city were ruined by what he did.

She told how Derby became a place that “terrified and disgusted” her after suffering her ordeal at the 48-year-old’s hands.

Jailing Hussain for 21 months, Recorder Paul Mann QC said: “Sarry’s is extremely popular with university students and young people.

“They come in and often you allow them behind the counter, having your photos taken
