An area in Derby has drastically reduced its cases of Covid-19.
Normanton North and Pear Tree this week became the area with the least cases in Derby. There are only six new cases of Covid-19 there, down 13 from last week according to Government figures.
The closest area is Littleover West and Heatherton which has 8 cases, but Normanton North and Pear Tree also have the lowest MSOA rate.
The MSOA rate, which stands for middle layer super output areas, indicates how infectious and area is, meaning that this area is now the safest in the city.
A new vaccination site, in the Ikhlas Community Centre, opened in Pear Tree and may explain why the numbers in the area have decreased so dramatically.
The site's lead pharmacist, Aftab Rehman, has said: "The feedback we’ve had from patients attending is that it’s a very efficient process."
