A further 270 Covid-19 cases have been recorded across Leicester and Leicestershire in the past 24 hours, according to today’s virus update.
The Department for Health and Social Care has released the latest infection figures this evening and they show 143 positive tests have been confirmed across the county and a further 127 in the city.
The borough of Charnwood, which includes Loughborough, recorded 47 new cases, while there were 24 infections in North West Leicestershire, which covers the towns of Coalville and Ashby.
There were 22 new cases in Blaby and 18 in Hinckley and Bosworth.
The Harborough district recorded 14 cases and there were 10 in Oadby and Wigston.
Melton again saw a single figure rise in daily cases with just eight.
