A Nottinghamshire head teacher said staff were 'delighted and a bit teary' after it was confirmed education settings would return to full capacity.
Outlining the Government's roadmap out of a national lockdown, Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed restrictions on schools would be the first to lift, with classrooms reopened to all pupils from March 8.
This includes primary and secondary schools as well as colleges, which since January 5 have only been able to open for vulnerable students or those of whose parents are critical workers.
While it had been widely reported beforehand, head teacher of Chetwynd Primary Academy in Toton, Lorraine Tonks, said she was "delighted" to hear the news from Parliament on Monday (February 22).
Mrs Tonks said: "It was what I was hoping for and what I expected, so not a surprise, but it is still such a relief.
