A Good Samaritan has been left devastated after his van filled with food for people within his community was stolen.

Nadeen Shahzad runs the Nad Grill takeaway in Hucknall Road and has been delivering food parcels along with other essential items to anyone who needs it along with a team of volunteers.

However, on Saturday, February 20, he was shocked to discover the van, which was packed full of food, had been stolen.

He said: "There was confusion and shock.

"We all felt really disappointed and distraught that this had happened."

His friend Gemaal Hussain, a former professional cricketer for Gloucestershire and coach for the Pakistan women's team, helps Nadeen with the deliveries across Nottingham.

He told Nottinghamshire Live: "Having that van has allowed us to carry out deliveries during the Covid pandemic.

"To have it stolen, it's quite heartbreaking for Nad and everyone else."
