Boris Johnson's announcement marking out a staged exit from lockdown has given Nottingham residents new hope for the coming months.

After three national lockdowns and nearly a year of restrictions they hope the newly-announced government plan will be the final route out of Covid-19's impact on our daily lives.

Schools in England are due to go back in just two weeks (March 8), Boris Johnson declared on Monday, February 22. The stay at home order will be lifted on March 29.

If certain virus data criteria is met, outdoor hospitality, including pubs, could reopen as early as April 12, with indoor hospitality opening their doors no earlier than May 17.

Nightclubs could be permitted to reopen on June 21 under Mr Johnson's plan, having been shut since the first lockdown in March 2020. It is hoped there will be no need for any restrictions come that date.
