Nottinghamshire Police find knife in man's van after he drove to police station

A knife was found inside a man's van when he drove to a police station after cocaine was found at his address.

The drug had been inside six bags inside a cigarette case on top of a fridge.

Anthony Hume, of Egmanton Road, Meden Vale, was not present when the cocaine was found, so he drove to Mansfield Police Station on the same day and was interviewed.

Nottingham Magistrates' Court heard that the cocaine was for personal use.

Police then searched the 32-year-old's vehicle and found the knife in the driver's side door pocket.

When interviewed about the knife, he said it was his and something he used for fishing and was given to him by his father. Hume forgot he had left it in his van.

Hume pleaded guilty to having a fixed bladed knife on February 2 this year without good reason or lawful authority in a public
