Thieves steal 'substantial' haul of goods from lorry by slicing it open

Thieves stole a “substantial” amount of goods from a lorry after slicing through its side-curtains, according to police.

The criminals targeted the HGV when it was parked in a lay-by outside the village of Walcote, near Lutterworth, last week.

The items stolen included parts for Tesla cookers, police reported today.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: “Officers are appealing for information after a reported theft from a lorry near Lutterworth.

“It was reported that between 8pm on Wednesday, February 17 and 6am on Thursday, February 18 a curtain-sider lorry was cut open when parked in a lay-by on the A4304 Lutterworth Road near Walcote.

“A substantial amount of goods including parts for Tesla cookers were stolen.”

Detective Constable Nick Cox, who is investigating the theft, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has dash cam footage from the area on the night of the incident.
