Inside new Derbyshire shopping arcade where 15 stores are now open

More than a dozen independent businesses are now trading from a new Derbyshire shopping arcade, with a café also set to open there next month.

A total of 15 retailers have set up shop at the 1924 Building, in Campbell Street, Belper, since it first opened in October, last year.

The arcade is home to a wide range of stores which reopened earlier this month following the easing of Covid restrictions, in-line with the Government's roadmap out of the lockdown.

The stores customers can visit include an independent bookshop, a cycle repair shop, a pet boutique, and a hairdressers.

Many of the small units have been taken up by local residents who have fulfilled their dreams of running their own shops.

They include Lisa Farnsworth, from MaD Handmade Designs, which sells wool, yarn and knitting accessories.
