An elderly dog who was suffering badly from arthritis has enjoyed a new lease of life since starting thanks to a novel treatment.
14-year-old labrador Shadow, from Burbage, was limping severely and had lost interest in going for walks or socialising with other dogs.
His owners had tried many medications and were considering putting him down when they had a call in February from Fairfield vets, in Hinckley.
They recommended that he try Librela, an antibody injection.
He had his first treatment in late February and in 10 days, his ability to walk and general comfort had noticeably improved.
After his second dose his mobility greatly improved.
Now he will run for short distances and is much happier meeting other dogs and playing again
