Debenhams Nottingham closing: Pictures show desolate store on final day

Shoppers have been clearing the shelves ever since since April 12 when Nottingham's Debenhams reopened after lockdown leaving very little for bargain seekers who queued outside today before the department store closed for good.

The closure brings more than 150 years of retail at the site in Long Row to an end.

Once a busy department store with five floors selling everything from menswear to handbags and kitchenware to cosmetics the store looked desolate when it opened for one last time.

The future of the landmark listed building overlooking Old Market Square is unknown. What's unlikely though is that it will be a department store again.
