Shoppers admit they are gutted as Debenhams in Lincoln prepares to say its final goodbyes.
The clothing retailer has been a staple of the city centre for decades.
However, the firm revealed it was struggling last year.
It was bought by Boohoo in January for a deal worth £55million.
However, the purchase only included the Debenhams name and website, but not its physical stores.
There had been hope the stores could show their value when they were reopened for closing down sales last month.
But, the closures will now go ahead.
A spokesperson for Debenhams said: “With such great bargains on offer, it’s no wonder our stock is selling out incredibly fast.”
