Residents speak out after 'massive boom' leaves debris scattered on gardens

Residents in a quiet Mansfield street have described hearing a "massive boom" before debris was found scattered across several gardens.

The incident, which happened in the Pinfold Gardens, High Ridge and Sienna Gardens area of Forest Town, caused residents to rush from their homes to investigate the "muffled" explosion.

Some described the noise as "a bit like an earthquake", with people leaving their homes slightly before 10pm on Monday, April 26 in search of what happened.

It wasn't until the next morning where it became slightly more clear, with numerous people across the area finding bits of plastic shrapnel outside their homes.

One of these residents was Angela McCabe, a resident of Pinfold Gardens, who described hearing a bang which sounded like it was directly above her conservatory.
