Met Office warns snow and 70mph winds could pose 'danger to life' as Storm Arwen sweeps in

Lincolnshire is bracing itself for snow as Storm Arwen strikes the UK.

The Met Office is reporting that snow is set to hit the county as strong winds also dominate the forecast.

In a statement, it said : "Early rain or showers clearing then sunny spells and scattered showers, but windy and feeling cold.

"Later in the evening, rain, sleet and gales moving in from the north, with snow on higher ground.

"Becoming very windy overnight. Cold with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow, heavy at times.

"Snow mostly over hills, but perhaps to some lower levels away from the coast."

A similar outlook is to come for us on Saturday too, the Met Office added: "Very windy and cold with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow, gradually becoming more confined to the east through the day.

"Snow mostly over hills."
