The owner of a popular cafe in Lincoln city centre says he is looking forward to seeing his customers again after having a new Covid-19 treatment.

Des Davis, 54, who runs Margaret's Tea Rooms, in Garmston Street, had sotrovimab intravenously at Lincoln County Hospital on January 7.

The medicine is available to people categorised as high risk including those with underlying health conditions and can mean the difference between recovering from coronavirus at home and hospitalisation.

Mr Davis, who said he was triple jabbed and had also had a flu jab, was offered the treatment by the NHS after testing positive for Covid-19.

He said: "I'm hoping to get back to work as soon as I'm fit and healthy - I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.
