Emergency services called to incident at Lincoln prison

Emergency services were called to HMP Lincoln following a fire in a cell.

One eyewitness from Gainsborough, who had attended the hospital, told Lincolnshire Live that they saw "multiple police cars, undercover police, riot vans and at least four fire engines".

They said the fire service had left by 10am.

We visited the scene and saw a police car parked in the prison car park and two other police vehicles parked at Lincoln County Hospital.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said officers were called to prison in Greetwell Road at just after 9am on Friday, January 14.

The spokesman said: "The only incident I can locate is a fire in cell at the prison, reported at 9.15am today.

"There were no injuries."
