Murder victim Sam Davies was armed with a kitchen knife when he was fatally stabbed with a Rambo knife, a court heard.

Six men and one 17-year-old boy are all charged with the murder of Mr Davies - w, 20, the alleged killer - and are on trial at Nottingham Crown Court.

The jury was told on January 14 by Mr Harbage that Mr Davies did not go to the park where he was killed unarmed.

"In the area after the attack police found another knife. It was a small, grey kitchen knife," he said.

He added: "That was found in the side of the park where the attack took place at Coleridge Gardens."

Although scientific examination showed it had not been used to stab anyone, it did have Mr Davies' DNA on it and is believed that it belonged to him, the prosectuor added.
