A 22-year-old man is due to make his first appearance at Lincoln Magistrates' Court after being charged with the murder of nine-year-old Lilia Valutyte. Lithuanian national Deividas Skebas, 22, of Thorold Street, Boston will face the court at 10am on Monday, August 1.
Lilia died following a suspected stabbing in Boston at around 6.20pm on July 28. Following a combination of intelligence and information supplied by members of the public, armed officers made an arrest in the Central Park area at around 2.45pm on Saturday, July 30.
Also a Lithuanian national, Lilia had reportedly been playing with her younger sister on the street just metres from an office where their mother was working. Floral tributes now cover the scene where Lilia died with people from across the world expressing their sadness on social media.
