Pete Daly, a 71 year old pensioner from Pensby, Wirral, has expressed his distress after experiencing a delay in receiving a £582.20 EuroMillions prize he won back in July, leading him to rely on food banks for sustenance.
Despite being promised the winnings within 10 days of his claim, over a month later, Pete is still without the money. The financial strain became tangible when he had to pay his car insurance renewal fee, which left him strapped for cash and compelled to seek help.
He expressed his dismay, saying: "I won £582.20 and every time I ring them up I get a different story. I have been paying for the lottery for 10 years, that is £10 a week, £1,040 every year for 30 years and I finally make £500 and they won't give me it."
