Demolition plan to make way for 145 Leicestershire homes

A developer is hoping to bulldoze farm buildings to make way for 145 new Leicestershire homes. Bloor Homes Limited is seeking outline planning permission - which means permission in principle, with the details to be agreed later - from Blaby District Council for the scheme, on land south of Hinckley Road, Leicester Forest East.

Application documents state that if the scheme is approved, some buildings on the site would be demolished and the existing farmhouse retained and altered. Some 108 of the new properties would be available on the open market, and 37 would be 'affordable', comprising a mix of social rented and shared ownership, they add.
