DWP updates Winter Fuel Payment rules amid cost of living crisis

The Department for Work and Pensions has announced a significant alteration to the £200 Winter Fuel Payment amidst the ongoing Cost of Living crisis. The DWP has confirmed that those born before 22 September 1958 will be eligible for the £200 Winter Fuel Payment this year, provided they are also recipients of certain benefits such as Pension Credit, Universal Credit or Income Support.

Eligibility for Guarantee Credit may apply if you've reached State Pension age, currently set at 66 for both genders. You can claim Guarantee Credit if your weekly income is less than £218.15 for singles or £332.95 for couples.
