A young man locked out of his girlfriend's flat after two days of drinking yelled racist abuse at passers-by and threatened to attack them. Jamie Dobson also called 999 and verbally abused the operator.
Dobson told the 999 call handler that he was outside his partner's home in New Romney Crescent, Thurnby Lodge, Leicester, with a knife. At Leicester Magistrates' Court on Friday (August 30), Dobson, 24, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to causing racially aggravated distress.
Prosecutor Ravinder Daroch said: "He said [to the emergency operator that] he was outside with a knife and needed someone to talk to and if they didn't get there soon he would hurt someone. He has then become aggressive, swearing down the phone."
