This is now the worst time of year for arachnophobes, as the cooler temperatures that come with September in the UK mean spiders will start to head into homes seeking drier, warmer conditions. It is also the beginning of their mating season and male spiders will come inside looking for females.

As is this wasn't bad enough, there is the fact that giant false widow spiders are just one type of arachnid set to come into people’s homes. Their bites are known to cause painful burns and swelling and can lead to a fever.
