A 14-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a grandfather died following an assault in a Braunstone park while walking his dog. Bhim Kohli, 80, died on Monday (September 2).
It followed an incident in Franklin Park the previous evening. Mr Kohli was seriously injured near the entrance of Franklin Park, close to his home.
On Wednesday night (September 4) Leicestershire Police confirmed a 14-year-old boy had been charged in connection with Mr Kohli's death. The youth cannot be named for legal reasons.
He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Leicester Youth Court sitting at Leicester Magistrates' Court tomorrow (Thursday, September 5).
