Weekend At The Asylum Steampunk Festival in Lincoln takes place every year on the August bank holiday and is the largest event of its kind in the world. It sees thousands of Steampunk enthusiasts flock to the city while showing off their creative costumes inspired by 19th century industrial steam-powered machinery and other Victorian themes.
People come from many different countries for the four-day event where the historic streets of Lincoln's Bailgate transform into a Victorianesque world. Despite its popularity in the city, event organiser and chair of the Victorian Steampunk Society, John Naylor, suggested that a location change could be on the cards for the 2025 festival due to a rise in hotel prices.
