Work transforming Eastern Gateway in derby to start soon in £15m project

Work to create a new look for the approach to East Street at its junction with Morledge - known as the Eastern Gateway - is due to begin later this month. The project will create a new entrance to the Derbion shopping centre and urban garden.

The two-storey frontage on the corner of East Street, which was formerly the entrance into the Eagle Market will be demolished, along with the adjacent Castle and Falcon pub, which closed its doors for the last time at the weekend.
