Boy, 14, accused of Bhim Kohli's murder appears in court

A 14-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with the murder of Bhim Kholi. The grandad, aged 80, was walking his dog, Rocky, in Franklin Park, Braunstone Town, when he was fatally wounded.

After the attack, at about 6.30pm on Sunday (September 1), he was taken to hospital but died the following day. A boy, who cannot be named due to his age, appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday, September 5) for a brief hearing where the case was sent to the crown court.

The boy is due to appear before Judge William Harbage KC at Leicester Crown Court some time this afternoon. The boy remains in custody.

During the hearing the boy spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth. Mr Kohli died as a result of a neck
