New community café set to open after year-long transformation project

A new community coffee shop near Coalville aiming to train those with learning disabilities is set to open. Meadow Barn View has been made possible with a National Lottery grant, with bosses believing it will be a "safe and friendly" environment for all.

Meadow Barn View, in Whitwick's Church Lane, will open to all on Friday (September 6) following a transformation project of The Barn which began last year. A National Lottery grant awarded last year has helped to set up the new project aimed at delivering free, accredited training to adults with learning disabilities and autism.

The centre also helps its clients find jobs and volunteering opportunities in the wider community so they can lead more independent lives. An important part of the project has been the redevelopment of a barn on the site into a
