Plans for more than 350 homes next to major Derby road

Plans for more than 350 homes have been submitted between a Derby suburb, a greenway and a major through-road to bridge a “woeful” housing supply shortfall. The application, from Wheeldon Brothers and Carol Diana Durose, would see 356 homes, a drive-through restaurant and 16 business units built off Sir Frank Whittle Way, opposite Morrisons and neighbouring Breadsall Hilltop.

Derby City Council will make a decision in the next few months. A design showing the proposed layout of the development shows blocks of affordable apartments on the side of the site closest to Sir Frank Whittle Way, with the drive-through just off the existing roundabout opposite McDonald’s.
