A savvy saver has revealed how he pocketed an impressive £756 in savings by taking a leaf out of Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis' book.
In the latest edition of the Money Saving Expert (MSE) newsletter, the team shone a spotlight on Phil, dubbing him their "success of the week". Phil reached out to MSE to share his success story after heeding Martin's advice on negotiating broadband, phone, and TV packages.
As Phil's contract with Virgin Money was drawing to a close, he decided to enter into negotiations. Phil initially rejected Virgin's first offer of £129 per month. He also declined their second proposal of £94 per month, ultimately agreeing to a deal at £87 per month.
This savvy negotiation resulted in Phil shaving £42 off his monthly bill, totalling a substantial £756 saving over the duration of his 18-month contract, reports the Mirror.
