A man has died following a single-vehicle collision in Leicestershire. The unnamed man, in his 40s, died at the scene following the crash in Tonge, near Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire Police said.
The force said it was called to Moor Lane at around 3.20pm yesterday (Tuesday, September 17), following a report that a grey Volkswagen Golf had left the carriageway and collided with a tree. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, a police spokesperson said.
A road closure was put in place for several hours before being lifted, police added in a statement today (Wednesday, September 18). The force is now appealing for anyone who might have seen what happened to come forward.
