A controversial new housing estate and country park, which was approved at appeal despite being dubbed a “stupid application” by a council leader, has taken a step closer to being built. Detailed plans for the 239 homes on fields near the Windmill Inn, in Brascote Lane, Newbold Verdon, have been submitted to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council by Persimmon Homes.
The council's plans committee twice refused the scheme by Richborough Estates for the scheme, before a planning inspector stepped in to approve them on appeal earlier this year. Persimmon Homes later bought the land in a deal that was announced in August this year.
The house builder has now revealed there will be six one-bed homes, 76 two-beds, 78
