Detailed plans have been revealed for 120 homes that were repeatedly turned down by a council before a planning inspector gave the go ahead. Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council refused four attempts by Davidsons Homes to build on fields at Ashfield Farm, on the edge of Desford.

But despite hundreds of objections, the authority’s decision was reversed last year following an appeal by the developer. Davidsons has now submitted comprehensive plans to the council for the scheme, in Kirkby Road, in the village.

There will be 12 one-bed homes, 25 two-beds, 32 three-beds, 36 four-beds and 15 five-beds. The houses include a range of property types, including detached, semi detached, terraces and maisonettes. Of the 120 homes, 48 will be designated as affordable housing.
