After days of heavy rain, Leicestershire is set for more wet weather today (Monday, September 30). The county will see heavy showers, at times turning persistent for much of the day.

A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued, lasting from 8am today until 3am on Tuesday (October 1). The Met Office warns of a small chance that heavy rain may lead to flooding and disruption.

While there is uncertainty regarding rainfall amounts, many areas could see 20-40 mm, with 'isolated' locations possibly experiencing 60-80 mm. The Met Office said: "An area of rain, heavy in places, will affect parts of the north-east Midlands and east and northeast England during Monday, before clearing overnight. Strong north-easterly winds will accompany the rain."
