Jury selection has begun in the trial of a man accused of killing a 55-year-old woman. It is alleged that Gregor Bauld killed Christine Bauld at her home in The Coppice, Burbage, near Hinckley, on Sunday, March 3 this year.
She was found seriously injured. Efforts were made by the emergency services to save Mrs Bauld, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bauld, 22, appeared at Leicester Crown Court today (Monday, September 30) for the first day of his trial. A panel of 18 potential jurors was chosen for the trial, which is expected to last about three weeks.
