A Derby estate remains in limbo years after residents first moved in as it is yet to be "adopted" by the council - meaning households are paying full council tax but only getting half the services.

The Mackworth Strata/Persimmon estate was originally built on the site of the former Mackworth College in 2013, however, since then developers have neglected to finish some of the essential requirements that would allow the council to adopt the roads and drainage systems.

Despite the Strata side of the estate being finished, the Persimmon half of the estate does not meet the requirements for the council to start maintaining the roads and drainage systems, leaving residents paying council tax for half of the services the rest of the city enjoys.

Residents of both the estates have been left frustrated and upset over the neglect that they have endured
