Black trailblazers will take centre stage at a Leicester shopping centre this October as part of a programme of events. John Lewis at Highcross has partnered with the University of Leicester to celebrate Black History Month through an exhibition showcasing influential black figures.
Window displays, indoor exhibits, and live performances will offer shoppers a unique insight into the university's black history makers and their contributions to Leicester's rich heritage.
From Tuesday, (October 1), passers-by will be able to see story boards in the first-floor windows of the flagship store. These displays will highlight the significant contributions of black students and staff to the university and beyond.
