A man filled a bag with £110 worth of cat wormer tablets and gardening products from The Range in Leicester before he was apprenghended. Tadas Saltys was heading for the door with a bag full of products when he was stopped after a fellow shopper had caught him in the act.
The 39-year-old's bag was searched following the incident on Friday, March 22 at the Abbey Retail Park, with the store security guard detaining him until Leicestershire Police arrived. Saltys appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Monday (September 30) and pleaded guilty to attempted shoplifting.
Prosecutor Vishal Patel told magistrates the incident happened at about 3pm on March 22. He said: "The defendant entered The Range in St Margaret's Way in Leicester with a bag over his shoulder.
