More than 20 Leicester-made spice products have been recalled over fears they may contain peanuts not listed on the label. A range of dips, curry powders and seasonings made by FGS Ingredients Ltd have all been impacted.

Customers with peanut allergies are being advised not to eat the products, and to return them in exchange for a full refund. The move has been described as “precautionary”, with the company saying it “does not include any peanut in its spices” and that no peanuts are “allowed” at its Ulverscroft Road site.

The company added it is “supporting” the Food Standards Agency (FSA) investigation “in every way necessary” to help “determine the source of this issue”. Among the products listed are Domino’s BBQ Dip and a number of seasonings and curry powders with the Favourit and Dunnes Store labels, as well as some Westmorland Family Butchery sausages and burgers.
